Hi, I’m leanne lapp.
I started acting as a teenager, and my passion for teaching grew out of that experience. I wanted a career in film and television but had no connections and no idea how to get started. It was the guidance of incredible teachers and mentors that helped me get my foot in the door and realize my dream of becoming a working actor.
Now I’m passionate about being that person for other actors. I work closely with students, advising on everything from how to read an audition breakdown to what to expect on your first day on set. My mission as a teacher is to take the fear out of pursuing a career as an actor. It’s all possible, for those who are willing to put in the work!

credentials
In the past 15 years, I’ve amassed nearly 50 credits on IMDb. I’ve worked on big studio features, like Sonic the Hedgehog (Paramount), had recurring roles on shows including iZombie (CW), The Magicians (SyFy), and Rogue (DirecTV), and led multiple Hallmark movies. Recently, I played a 1950’s housewife in the upcoming feature film Queens For a Day, appeared in the psychological thriller Sundowning (Spooky Pictures), and shot a pilot for Amazon MGM Studios. I trained at Circle In The Square Theatre School in New York City and I improvise with The Groundlings School in Los Angeles.
I currently work as a reader in some of Vancouver's busiest casting offices, and watching casting directors work with actors in the room has shaped my teaching in ways nothing else could. I've also directed multiple music videos and am in the process of selling my first script.
My students have worked on numerous projects on networks like Netflix, HBO MAX, MGMPrime, FOX, CBS, and more. One student recently appeared in A24’s Backrooms and is currently playing Adam Sandlers daughter in the upcoming Netflix drama Time Out, another just received an Emmy nomination for her recurring guest role in HBO Max’s The Pitt. Many of my younger students go on to pursue higher education and have gone on to train at The Neighbourhood Playhouse, Circle in the Square, and American Academy of the Dramatic Arts in New York, as well as Royal Central School for Speech and Drama and RADA in The UK.
